Your Gift Will Make Room: How Creativity Carves the Way

Your Gift Will Make Room: How Creativity Carves the Way

Recently, a friend asked me if I’d designed the T-shirt for our 30th anniversary concert.
When I said yes, she smiled and said,
“See? Your gift is making room for you.”

Now, I’ve heard that verse before—many times, in fact—but something about how she said it stuck with me this time.

It felt personal.

Intentional.

Like a little nudge from the Holy Spirit to stop and take another look.

So I opened up my Bible.

I checked it in the New Living Translation (NLT). I flipped to the New International Version (NIV). But the one that truly captured what she said? The New King James Version (NKJV):

“A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.”
— Proverbs 18:16 (NKJV)

That word “room” hit differently. It wasn’t just about opportunity—it was about space being made by God’s hand. Doors that open. Paths that form. Conversations that happen because your gift showed up before you did.

And that design? It wasn’t just ink on cotton. It was part of the room God’s been preparing for me to walk in—using what He placed in my hands long ago.

Creativity Is a Gift from God

Creativity is more than colors, cardstock, and T-shirt designs. It’s the heartbeat of our mission. It’s how we love, minister, and make space—not just for ourselves, but for others who need to be reminded of God’s goodness.

When God gives you something—whether it’s the ability to design, write, sew, encourage, or dream—He gives it with intention. That “something” is your gift.
And when you use it to honor Him? That gift becomes a vehicle for a breakthrough.

Every handmade card, every scripture-inspired tee, every encouraging design?
It’s your anointing in action.

What Does “Making Room” Look Like?

For us, it looks like…

  • A custom greeting card that speaks life into someone grieving
  • A woman wearing one of our shirts and getting stopped in at the store because the message ministered to a stranger
  • A vendor event where someone walks by our table and says, “I feel peace here.”
  • Opening our inbox and seeing a message that says, “This was exactly what I needed.”

That’s not a coincidence. That’s the room God is making through the gift He planted.

Your Gift Isn’t Just for You

Let’s be clear—when God makes room for you, He also makes room through you.
Two Anointed Hands has always been about more than products. It’s about people.

It’s about encouraging that tired mom, that grieving sister, that weary believer who just needs one reminder that God sees her.

And the beautiful thing? God uses our creativity to make that happen.

Your gift may show up in a canvas, in a journal, in a jewelry piece—but the impact goes so much deeper than the surface.

Walking in the Promise

So if you’re a creative like me—wondering if you’re doing enough, reaching far enough, showing up boldly enough—hear this:

You don’t have to force your way into rooms. Your gift, when surrendered to God, will do the heavy lifting.

Trust it.
Steward it.
Sharpen it.
And most importantly, honor God with it.

Because your gift isn’t just a talent—it’s a tool. And in the hands of the One who gave it, that tool will break down walls, build bridges, and yes… make room.
