God Sees You, Sis
Share
Some mornings I wake up already “on.”
Before my feet hit the floor, I’m thinking about what needs to get done, who needs me, what I forgot yesterday, and what I’m trying to fix today. And if I’m honest, there have been seasons where I’ve been so busy showing up that I didn’t even notice how empty I was getting.
That’s the part we don’t always say out loud.
Because as women, we’re good at carrying things—responsibilities, emotions, family needs, work demands, church assignments, dreams we haven’t had time to touch, and prayers that feel like they’ve been waiting in line for a while.
So today, on International Women’s Day, I don’t want to celebrate the “superwoman” image. I want to honor the real woman. The woman who’s faithful. The tired woman. The woman who’s healing. The woman who loves God but still has questions sometimes. The woman who keeps going—sometimes with joy, sometimes on pure obedience.
And I want to remind her of one simple truth:
God sees you.
Not the version of you that’s polished. Not the version that has it all together.You.
God Sees the Hidden Work
There is so much that women do that never gets a spotlight.
The emotional labor. The constant decision-making.The way you make a home feel safe. The way you remember what everyone likes, needs, avoids, prefers. The way you keep things moving even when your own heart is heavy.
You might not get thanked for all of it. You might not get credit for all of it. But I need you to know this:
Heaven is not ignoring what people overlook.
“The Lord sees not as man sees…” (1 Samuel 16:7)
God sees the woman who keeps showing up.God sees the woman who prays through her tears.God sees the woman who’s rebuilding after disappointment.God sees the woman who’s smiling in public but fighting battles in private.
And He doesn’t look at you with critique. He looks at you with compassion.
You Don’t Have to Prove Your Strength
Some of us learned to survive by being strong.
Strong meant: don’t cry.Strong meant: don’t ask.Strong meant: handle it yourself.
But the truth is, God never called us to be strong without Him.
Real strength is not independence.Real strength is surrender.
It’s knowing when to keep going, and also knowing when to sit down and say, “Lord… I need You.”
“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
That scripture doesn’t shame us for being weak. It reminds us that weakness is often the very place God shows Himself the clearest.
If You’re Tired, You’re Not Failing
Let’s say this plainly: being tired is not a sin.
Sometimes tiredness is a signal—not that you’re lazy, but that you’ve been carrying too much for too long.
And if that’s where you are, I want to offer you this gentle permission:
You can rest. You can pause. You can say no.You can stop explaining. You can breathe again.
Jesus didn’t push the weary—He invited them.
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
That’s not just a comforting verse. That’s a real invitation from a real Savior who understands weight.
God Is Building You—Even Here
Sometimes we think we should be further along.
Further healed.Further ahead.Further past the pain.Further into the promise.
But I’ve learned that God doesn’t waste seasons. Even the slow ones.
Even the quiet ones.Even the ones where it feels like nothing is changing.
God is still building.
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work…” (Philippians 1:6)
So if you’re in a “becoming” season, don’t rush it. Becoming is holy.
This Women’s Day, I’m not asking you to be more productive.
I’m not asking you to do more, prove more, or carry more.
I’m simply inviting you to come closer.
Because you don’t have to be perfect to be loved.
You don’t have to be strong every day to be held.
And you don’t have to have all the answers to be faithful.
God sees you.
And God is with you.
Take a deep breath. Let that be enough for today.
